Why activated carbon works to rid odors.

Activated carbon works and is a natural material that is environmentally safe.  The charcoal  is treated with steam at a high temperature that results in a material filled with millions of microscopic holes and pores inside and on the surface, which make activated carbon one of the most porous materials known.

Odor Removal Basics

My girlfriend talks about her dog that smells odor, my other friend talks about luggage odor.  The neighbors around seem to be talking more and more about smells and  odor. Getting rid of odor is top on their minds these days. Choosing an odor control product and which should you use? How do I know what is safe? Non Toxic or Fragrance Free?  Do I want it to have immediate scent or an odor control or do I want the odor remover to be more long lasting?

 What kind of odor is it? How to get rid of cigarette and pipe smoke smell out of room, linens and books.

A big area of concern in odor control is how to get rid of Pipe odor, cigar smell or cigarette smoke from a room, car or from fabric, linens, book, magazines or old newspapers.  Smoke can embed itself into the pores of the fabric or book or paper for years after the person has smoked amd the smoke smell still continues to linger and smell. 

There are several ways to get the smell out of old books and magazines.  It is always a strange feeling to smell my uncles pipe in the old magazine stack.  The only issue is he passed in the 1960’s. I do not like to smell of cigarette smoke, which years later still smell like the person was still there smoking in the room.

The same it true for cars that smell like an ashtray. Think of how many times have you entered a car and it smells like an old ash tray? The same is true for a smelly hotel room.  When you enter a non smoking room and someone has smoked, you know it right away and the smoke smell does not go away.

There are odor removing products that pull the smells out of air.  Other products replace the smell with a different smell on going.  Some products are sprays for masking smells.  Other can products pull moisture out of the air to reduce the dampness or odor.  Some other forms spray on a mask that covers the odor and works with the fabric or carpet to freshen the fiber.

Here are my favorite options for odor removal:
